Two new Applied Sciences universities will meet in Afyon to develop a teaching and administrative work strategy through a joint study. Rectors and Commissions of Sakarya University of Applied Sciences (SUAS) and Isparta University of Applied Sciences (ISUBU), who came together in Afyon, will present the results of the workshop to Higher Education Council (YÖK).

Rector of SUAS Prof.Dr. Mehmet Sarıbıyık, Rector of ISUBU İbrahim Diler, vice-rectors of two universities, members of the education commission, general secretary and assistants, and heads of departments attended the workshop held in Afyon.

Different education models

The workshop aims to raise qualified individuals who required in the business world to complete the job training of undergraduate and graduate students. In this context, the scope and application types of full-time job  training are updated.  With the training model that SUAS and ISUBÜ plan to implement, the models scheduled to be submitted to YÖK for undergraduate and undergraduate students who will be included in the new curriculum were determined.

High School and Vocational High School graduates are planned to graduate at the same level with different educational curricula. Thus, the effectiveness of students will be increased. Students will receive job training as well as theoretical and practical training. They will be graduated at a level that will meet their learning outcomes related to their fields.

In the workshop, it is aimed to include both universities within the scope of "Thematic University" in the concept of applied education. It was emphasized that the departments that provide courses such as digital transformation, coding, industry 4.0, information technologies and communication skills should be expanded and given to all departments.

Administrative Planning

Common strategies were set at the meeting of the  Secretary-General, assistant secretary generals and heads of departments of the two universities.

It was emphasized in the final report that the common expectations would be presented to the relevant institutions about the determinations regarding the personnel, equipment and physical areas needed by the two universities.
