Students in SUBÜ learn about the projections of their discipline in business and about their inquiries by getting together with the sectoral representatives throughout their course periods as well. Within this scope, journalist Cuma Obuz and Henkel Chain Stores sales representative of Turkey Yusuf Hacıoğulları met with our students in Sapanca Vocational High School recently.
Besides on-the-job education, Sakarya University of Applied Sciences (SUBÜ) continues bringing sectoral representatives and students together during the course periods as well. Students get the opportunity to learn and discuss about their inquiries, get the practical tips and learn about work-related hardships directly from the representatives working in areas relevant to the specific departments. In this vein, Students in Sapanca Vocational High School, Public Relations and Advertising Department met with ‘www.gazeticiler.com’ editor in chief Cuma Obuz, and Henkel Chain Stores sales representative of Turkey Yusuf Hacıoğulları. At the end of their talks they were presented a gift by Dr Lecturer Serpil Çiğdem, the chair of Marketing and Advertising department.
IT IS CRUCIAL TO KEEP UP WITH THE PACE
Journalist Cuma Obuz, who got together with our students within the context of Newsgathering and Writing Techniques Course, shared his experiences in business and the recent developments in Media Industry. Obuz, who highlighted the speed of digitalisation in the industry of Media, stated: “Everything is too fast nowadays. We must keep up with this in our occupation. We should be brave and nonconformist. Failing to keep up with this dizzying speed brings about serious challenges. Being visionary and open to change are the keys to this business.” At the end of the talk Dr Lecturer Ali Koçak gave his thanks to Obuz.
THE BRAND MUST HAVE CREDIBILITY
Within the context of Brand Perception Management Course, Henkel Chain Stores sales representative of Turkey Yusuf Hacıoğulları met with the students. Hacıoğulları, who shared several key points of the delicacies of Brand Management and talked about his personal career journey, responded to the questions of the students planning their future careers in the field of sales and marketing giving them detailed information about career planning. Emphasizing that the brand is the centrepiece of organisational identity, Hacıoğulları said: “It is crucial to improve and protect this centrepiece keeping the whole balance within the industry, and to create the feeling of trustworthiness for people when they recall the brand name.” At the end of the conversation, Course responsible Dr Lecturer Atilla Yıldırımalp gave his thanks to Hacıoğulları.
