The project on variable speed wind turbines was completed under the supervision of Assoc. Dr. Murat Karabacak, one of the SUBU faculty members, was awarded the Project Performance Award by TÜBİTAK. With the project, the turbine efficiency was increased by around 10 percent.

The project titled "Nonlinear and Fully Adaptive Control of Variable Speed ​​Wind Turbines Based on Wind Sensorless Maximum Power Monitoring" was carried out under the supervision of Murat Karabacak, The project was awarded the Project Performance Award by TÜBİTAK.

SUBÜ Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Fuat Boz, Düzce University Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Murat Kale, SUBÜ Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Faculty Member Assoc. Dr. Mustafa Zahit Yildiz and Celal Bayar University Mechatronics Engineering Department academic staff member Dr. Mevlut Karaçor took part in the project team.

Karabacak emphasized that they completed the project as a result of intense work with the team. He stated that they aim to increase efficiency in renewable energy even more and to contribute to localization.
