SUBÜ Hendek Vocational School organized a Career Summit on the theme of Digital Transformation. The two-day event featured panels and exhibitions to help students with their careers, and representatives from the business world met with students.
Sakarya University of Applied Sciences (SUBÜ) Hendek Vocational School organized a ‘Career Summit’ with the theme of ‘Digital Transformation’. Nearly 40 institutions and organizations from the public and private sectors participated in the two-day summit. The opening ceremony of the summit, where students met with representatives from the business world, was attended by Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Çalışkan, Dean of the Faculty of Education at Sakarya University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Erduman, Director of SUBÜ Hendek Vocational School; Kemal Aydınoğlu, Hendek District Police Chief; Adem Öz, AK Party Hendek District Chairman; academics; and students. The summit was the last “Career Summit” held in the building that has served Hendek MYO for 30 years.
Advice from experts
The events began with a panel titled “Digital Transformation in Industry” held in the Education Faculty Conference Hall. In the panel, which was opened by Hendek MYO Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Erduman, TÜBİTAK Turkey Industry Management and Administration Institute Expert Researcher Mehmet Akkoç explained his institution's role in Turkey's digital transformation processes, emphasized the importance given to this field, and offered career advice to students. TÜBİTAK Digital Transformation Consultant Ebru Tanburacı explained the role of enterprise resource planning systems in digital transformation, touched on project management professional processes, and emphasized the importance of students gaining project management experience. Optimak STU R&D Moderator Banu Araz Alkan explained the necessity and applicability of enterprise resource planning applications in SMEs with examples. She also talked about the personal development opportunities SMEs offer to students and graduates at the beginning of their careers.
Summit details
At the Hendek MYO Career Summit, students showcased the work and design projects they had prepared throughout the year. Students had the opportunity to present their projects to representatives from the business world and receive feedback. Hendek Mayor İrfan Püsküllü attended the summit with his wife Dilek Püsküllü, visited the booths, and, together with Hendek MYO Director Erduman, presented thank-you certificates to the institutions and organizations that participated. The summit concluded with a music recital featuring a live performance by the SUBÜ Music Ensemble.
