SUAS has come in first in Public-University-Industry Cooperation studies. SUAS faculty member Barış Boru has ranked first in the Second Region Category of the R&D and Innovation Ecosystem Index.

Sakarya University of Applied Sciences (SUAS) has achieved significant success by making a difference among the universities in its region with the efforts it has undertaken to strengthen the Public-University-Industry Cooperation (PUIC). In the evaluations made by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, General Directorate of R&D Incentives, SUAS Faculty Member Barış Boru has come in the first place in the Second Region Category of the R&D and Innovation Ecosystem Index due to his devoted efforts. Asst. Prof. Dr. Barış Boru, who is also the principal of SUAS Lifelong Education Center, represents Sakarya PUIC Working Group in the nation-wide PUIC Working Group, which consists of lecturers from universities in 81 provinces and whose main duty is to carry out coordination and orientation activities between public institutions and organizations, universities, industrial organizations and non-governmental organizations.

 

VARIOUS INSTITUTIONS CONTRIBUTE TO THE STUDIES

Asst. Prof. Dr. Barış Boru stated that the PUIC Working Group in Sakarya works under the auspices of Governor Ahmet Hamdi Nayir. He added that "Science, Industry and Technology Provincial Directorate, SUAS Technology Transfer Office, Sakarya Technocity, Small and Medium Enterprises Development and Support Administration (KOSGEB) Provincial Directorate, East Marmara Development Agency (MARKA), Turkey Business Association (İŞKUR) Provincial Directorate and Regional Organized Industrial Directorates are all involved in the carried on studies.”

 

TEAM COLLABORATION BRINGS SUCCESS

Asst. Prof. Dr. Barış Boru emphasized the importance of team collaboration by stating “The devoted efforts of all stakeholders contributed to the success we achieved in 2019. Our goals are to strengthen the R&D ecosystem in our city, to contribute to the local economy and employment, and to enable our universities to work more effectively with our industrial institutions and to create joint projects.”
